Father Nature wins City Bridge Trust ‘Growing Localities’ Award

Lemos editedlemosaward_smallpicWe’re delighted to report that Father Nature has won a Growing Localities Award from the City of London Corporation’s charity City Bridge Trust. The award is for our ‘Growing Dads’ project to ‘skill up’ young fathers in Lambeth to combat unemployment, teach life skills and promote responsible fathering models. We’d like to take this moment to recognise the hard work of all you Fat Nat young Dads out there – this is your award for all your enthusiasm and commitment! Here’s to more Growing Dads in 2015!

Commenting on the Award, Chairman of City Bridge Trust, Jeremy Mayhel said:

“These awards celebrate the flourishing of environmental projects across London. Father Nature’s work is helping to build respect and understanding between young dads and their children, through access to nature and their local communities. I am pleased that their efforts are being recognised.”

96 entries were received from London-based organisations for the Awards which celebrate local environmental projects which promote engagement with nature and have visible impact in the community. Amongst the other winners were the amazing SHP Green Project, Stepney City Farm, Age Uk’s Great Croft Garden, with a well deserved first prize going to the Ambitious about Autism gardening project.
